Tom Scott
Co-Manager, Buttonwood Capital Management; President, Buttonwood Asset Management

As firm Co-Manager, Mr. Scott is responsible for formulating the firm’s guiding strategy and leading day-to-day investment activities, along-side Steve Dervenis. Mr. Scott possesses a unique combination of skills in investment selection, financing and oversight, transaction structuring and negotiation, and business strategy and transformation. He is a respected leader, with additional strengths in management mentoring and teambuilding.

Mr. Scott is currently a Managing Partner at Triton Pacific Capital Partners, LLC, where he leads the specialty finance investment activities, among other responsibilities.

Investments under his management include:

  • Liberty Holdings, which purchases non-performing consumer debt, with a unique litigation-focused collections strategy
  • Javlin Capital, which funds and acquires service-intensive financial assets, with a focus on healthcare receivables (including personal injury and workers’ comp claims), student loans, real estate, non-performing consumer loans, and litigation finance
  • Blue Bridge Financial, a specialty financing provider for small and medium-sized businesses

Prior to joining Triton Pacific, Mr. Scott was a Principal at TAG Venture Partners, a Boston-based merchant banking and advisory firm, where he was involved in more than twenty transactions across a broad range of industries. Earlier, he was a management consultant for Harbor Research, a strategy consulting boutique. There he advised industrial and technology companies.

As an investor, active board member and hands-on portfolio manager, Mr. Scott has a demonstrated track record guiding strategic direction and creating value.

Mr. Scott holds a B.A. degree from Dartmouth College.
